What brought this thought to my mind was the independence declaration of Kosova.
I know that there is an Alevi(Bektashi) minority in Balkan, but I don't know the territories in which they live?
What can you tell me about Alevism in Balkan.
where do they predominate?
How are their relations with the other religions and ethnicities in Balkan?
How are their relations and communication with their fellow Alevis and Bektashis in Turkey?

I think they living more like a Bektashi as an Alevi, to be a Bektashi is a nice alternative to religion or belief-philosophy.

Albanians has the majority in Kosova by the 75%, total Muslims is the 80 of population. And estimated max. 5% of muslim pop. is Bektashi in Kosova. Total population is about 2 million.
Bektashis mostly live in Albenia by 25-30 percentage of total population (approx. 3,5 millions).
Additionaly a little minority of Bektashi, less than 5%, lives in Makedonia. Those who lives in Makedonia and Kosova are dependent on a kind of dervish institution (they call dedebaba which is just like in Anatolia) in Albania.
In those 3 countries, most of Bektashies are albanians and some of turks or romans. Their worship language Albanians and Turkish .
Furthermore there are Alevitens in Bulgaria and they call theirselves as Alevite as well. They are mostly Turks and some of Pomaks (Pomaks are originally slavik).
Actaully we cannot say they live their believs completely for most of them .

Years ago I spoke with a balkan Turk from Serbia. He called themselfes "Alevis" and not "Bektashi". And he was realy proud to be a Alevi. And I think it is not fair to say that they are NOT Alevis.

hello,
I had a friend and she comes from Balkans too. She was an Alevi too.
But I come from Turkey.
We spoke a lot of about Alevis and about the difference between Alevis in Turkey and Balkans.
I would say, there is no difference between them. But I think Alevis from Balkan are more moderener than Turkish Alevis.
Bye bye from Germany
